I had horrible experience with CAIRS' services. They kept on sending low level (Intermediate licensed), to the appointments, when I repeatedly requested for higher qualified interpreters (Master licensed preferred). YET, they kept on ignoring my requests. Same thing in the past, when I was taking some classes, they sent worst interpreters, hence I dropped out of college, thanks to CAIRS! DO NOT USE CAIRS for their interpreting services!

We used CAIRS to provide a Sign Language interpreter for our wedding in Chicago in August of 2012. My grandmother is deaf and we wanted to be sure that she knew what was going on during the ceremony. Of course, we didn't have a lot of money to spend on the service, so we wanted to find someone reasonable. It took 2 1/2 months for me to find out how much their services were.
They were very confusing as to what their rates were and wanted me to blindly hand over my credit card number without knowing the cost. I tried to get them to tell me the rate for the exact service I was looking for and it was like pulling teeth, so i finally gave up and decided i would pass along a printed program for my grandmother instead. After a couple weeks had passed, and only one week before the wedding, CAIRS contacted me wanting to know if I still was interested in an interpreter.
I told them I was, but I refused to blindly give them my credit card number without knowing how much the service would cost. Then, someone called me. After a few minutes she was clearly able to tell me their rates. I don't know why it had to be such a drawn out affair to find out what they charge for their services, but i was finally able to find out that they only charged $106 for a 2 hour period (that's the minimum).
It was perfect for what i was looking for and we used them. It was great having my grandmother know what was going on during the ceremony. I only wish the interpreter had stayed and chatted a little with her - the ceremony only ran 20 minutes, you'd think he could have stayed for at least an hour of the time I had payed for. All-in-all though, they were very reasonably priced and did the job we paid them to do.
