I am a freelance translator currently living in Denver, Colorado. I grew up in Germany where I finished my translation studies in 1984 at the Wurzburger Dolmetscherschule (professional academy for translators and interpreters in Wurzburg, Germany). After serving nearly six years as technical translator for the Engineering, Plans and Services Division of the US-Army in Frankfurt/Germany I moved to the US in 1990. I resumed my translation career in 1994 as fulltime German in-house translator for Quark, Inc. here in Denver.
My goal is translated content that reads as if it was originally written in the target language without altering the original meaning or omitting any details, no matter how seemingly insignificant. This involves thorough terminology research and making sure that the intended message is being conveyed.
