Hired Hands, Inc. is supported by a full-time office and interpreter staff ready to assist in your interpreting needs.

Hired Hands, Inc. is committed to providing certified, qualified, and professional sign language interpreters who will work to ensure effective communication for all.
Services
Our team is made up of a full-time office staff and both full-time and part-time staff interpreters. We work together to ensure that we provide a service that can be trusted and build relationships that are purposeful and long lasting.
Outside of a courtroom or public school there are no laws in Texas that protect people from uncertified interpreters. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) states that an interpreter needs to be "qualified" but says noting of certification. People may not know how to determine if an interpreter is qualified and they may not know that certification is the best way to determine qualification.
The Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA outlines the responsibilities in providing access to communication for disabled persons. It repeatedly states, "reasonable accommodations" and "qualified" interpreter. How can reasonable accommodations be determined? This is a conversation that must be had with the Deaf person.

On Friday, Sept 6th my office made an appointment to utilize the service of Hired Hands, Inc. to help with a patient the following Monday. The patient had an emergency that came up and had to cancel their appointment with our office which was at 4:30pm, Monday afternoon. My staff had called Hired Hands, Inc. Monday morning, around 8:30am, to try and re-schedule and they charged us the amount that would have cost to have them come out to our office; the entire amount.

Not only was I shocked at this type of business practice but the individual that we got Hired Hands, Inc. to help, has never heard of this. The person I talked to on the phone was not very customer service orientated and I told her we were just re-scheduling not cancelling. I would never use this company again for this type of service, and after talking with the person we hired this company for, she is never going to recommend them either. Be careful of what you sign up for with these guys!
