I had counseling sessions with their therapists and met only some people who are related to this organization. So, my perceptions below are ONLY based on the experiences. Since a community of people of the same nationality of mine is small in Colorado, I couldn't find any resources which understand my immigrant background. Finally, I was introduced to this organization. [Trigger Warning] Their counseling sessions made me feel worse.

When I had the last session with their counselor, I became so depressed. Almost 6 months have passed since the last session, and I've been feeling OK now. Now I realized that my severe depression could have been caused by their counseling sessions. I informed of it to them but their counselors seem to have tried to accuse me that everything was my fault because of my bad decision.

I admit that I was ignorant before coming to the US. They've never apologized to me. Not only that, they sent me the bill of charges, which I've never been informed of before and during counseling session over 6 months, when I had a hard time due to depression. I thought that this organization isn't for immigrant Asian, though it is my perception.

It seems that they will help Asian American who are native English speakers or immigrants who worship them. I believe that it is because some of them preferring hierarchy in Asian community. APAC doesn't seem to be open to all types of Asians. It could be because they haven't got over their identity issues yet. Also, the organization indicated that they will help Asians and victims from Asian hate on their website, please be careful as they may not help you.

If you already feel isolated and you reached out to this organization but cannot get their help, you will get hurt more. I hope that I just had an unpleasant experience with this organization but other Asians in Denver were helped by them.

I wondered if they are really trying to help immigrants. I only felt that I was looked down by some of them. I only met a few people (management class) there so I don't know much about this organization, so this review may not be appropriate. It would be great if someone reading this post feels the same way, this post helps those people who had bad experiences with them feel better, or would help their management.

I am disappointed with them so far. I am an immigrant Asian and have been suffering from racial discrimination, so I've decided to rely on this resource. I was welcomed by them and encouraged at first but then realized that they don't like my English which I speak as a second language. I also realized that a few people whom I met only speak English but they identify themselves as Chinese, Japanese, or Vietnamese or people who have Asian roots.

That's reasonable. But what I point out here is that people I met don't know well about their culture and language. I believe not all employees are like that but people whom I met don't even try to understand them. But Asian American rely on grocery stores and foods which immigrants who are usually non-native English speakers bring to the US, and those things help their identity.

If they truly appreciate their roots, they wouldn't treat non-native English speakers like me poorly because I don't speak English well. If Asian people in Colorado believe being successful means becoming rich, their goals are not different from white people. I am not criticizing white people or their sense of value. But since Asians are a minority, if they have the same goal as the majority, it wouldn't help develop their ethic identity.

This place offers various service such as adult education, victim assistance, behavioral health, youth leadership, etc. Also, the services are not only for the Asians but for everyone in Colorado. Most services are free or very affordable.

Best work place environment and provide many services to refugees and immigrants in the community.

We are forever grateful with the staff at the Asian Pacific Center! They were hosting a Citizenship Workshop which my husband and I were very fortunate to attend. We were helped by awesome people who helped fill out the application, gather proper documentation, then reviewed the app with immigration lawyers, and finally were given the information on how and where to send. Tobin helped us through the process and later helped us finalize our app. This was all done in March 2018, as of Decenber 3 my husband is officially a US Citizen!
